We had a conference call yesterday with all TV stations and NWS. It was mainly a heads up call regarding our situation. I know at Ch 4 we have been talking about the chance for serious storms this weekend since Wednesday. So hopefully our viewers are well prepared.
So here is the deal:
A strong low is moving toward us. For the past several weeks, the low pressure centers have been WELL to our NW. But not this time.
With very warm temps (near 90 or so) and lots of moisture, all we need is the winds veering in different directions. And that low pressure will do just that.
SPC has us in the SLIGHT RISK today. This is for the afternoon storms we may see that could get rather strong. Heck, we already have had severe storms this morning in a few spots.

Tomorrow is the bigger day for the Lowcountry. SPC has us in a MODERATE RISK. There is even a chance we could be upgraded to a HIGH RISK situation. Twice in one year???? It is possible.

I know it is Mother's Day weekend and we have the CofC graduation stuff going on, but please make sure you pay careful attention to the weather this weekend. I know all of us at 4 are on standby for storm coverage.
I will post more after the midday outlook. Also, we should have a conference call later today...so I will post more info from that.
Stay tuned.
