Get ready folks...this one is gonna hurt.
But until then, it will be warm with passing showers and storms. The best chance for a more widespread event will take place on Sunday. Some of those storms could be locally strong to severe as well. Something to monitor.
The main event for the headlines will be Tuesday-Friday.
Expected highs to struggle to hit 40 Wednesday. Lows Wednesday night just may hit
as low as 15 in a few spots. With readings in the low 20s more likely for the coastal areas.
And that isn't the worst of it. Winds will gust Wednesday over 30 mph, so wind chill values could get VERY close to ZERO on that afternoon. OUCH!
So get ready to have extra firewood, check the antifreeze in the car, and don't forget those pets! Jack Frost is about to strike.
There is a side note...
In rare cases of Arctic Blasts such as this one, moisture from the ocean can actually seep onto the coastal counties. This sometimes leads to "Ocean Snow Flurries" ...just like what happened in Florida in 2003. Not a high chance for this, but something I will keep a close eye on. Because if you want snow, that will be the only way as cold air masses like this typically have very little moisture with them.
Stay tuned!!!
